Bonus Ball

ATP Fantasy Bonus Ball: how to choose it

The Bonus Ball doubles one starter's score. This guide explains what it does, why it matters, and what to check before assigning it.

What the Bonus Ball does

The Bonus Ball is assigned to one of your starters and doubles that player's score for the matchday. Alternates cannot carry it.

Why it matters

Doubling one player's points magnifies your choice. At major events, a good assignment can make a larger difference than many squad changes.

The verified rule

  • One starter receives the Bonus Ball and doubles their score.
  • If that player withdraws, operator rules move it through the next players who play; if nobody plays, it does not apply.
  • The Triple Bounce chip triples, rather than doubles, the selected player's score.

Price alone does not decide

Price reflects ranking, not the matchday's expected result. An expensive player can have a difficult draw, while a cheaper player with a favourable route can return more doubled points.

Decision framework

When a verified projection exists, SetDraft can help compare candidates. Without one, we do not publish a recommendation.

  • Expected tournament progression.
  • Route difficulty and possible opponents.
  • Scoring upside for reachable rounds.
  • Risk and evidence coverage.
  • Whether the player is actually in your starting lineup.
